Asymptotic stability of Webster-Lokshin equation
The Webster-Lokshin equation is a partial differential equation considered in this paper. It models the sound velocity in an acoustic domain. The dynamics contains linear fractional derivatives which can admit an infinite dimensional representation of diffusive type. The boundary conditions are described by impedance condition, which can be represented by two finite dimensional systems. Under t...
متن کاملGlobal asymptotic stability of a higher order rational difference equation
In this note, we consider the following rational difference equation: xn+1 = f (xn−r1 , . . . , xn−rk )g(xn−m1 , . . . , xn−ml )+ 1 f (xn−r1 , . . . , xn−rk )+ g(xn−m1 , . . . , xn−ml ) , n= 0,1, . . . , where f ∈ C((0,+∞)k, (0,+∞)) and g ∈ C((0,+∞)l, (0,+∞)) with k, l ∈ {1,2, . . .}, 0 r1 < · · ·< rk and 0 m1 < · · ·<ml , and the initial values are positive real numbers. We give sufficient con...
متن کاملAsymptotic stability of solitons for the Benjamin-Ono equation
In this paper, we prove the asymptotic stability of the family of solitons of the Benjamin-Ono equation in the energy space. The proof is based on a Liouville property for solutions close to the solitons for this equation, in the spirit of [16], [18]. As a corollary of the proofs, we obtain the asymptotic stability of exact multi-solitons.
متن کاملStability and asymptotic behaviour of solutions of the heat equation
where Ω is a bounded and smooth subset of Rn , n 1, m > 0 and p 1. Problem (1.1)–(1.3) (see Galaktionov, 1981; Samarskii et al., 1995) describes the propagation of thermal perturbations in a medium with a nonlinear heat conduction coefficient and a heat source depending on the temperature when u0 0. Local existence for the solutions of (1.1)–(1.3) has been proved when m > 1 (the so-called slow ...
متن کاملGlobal asymptotic stability of the higher order equation
In this paper, we investigate the local and global stability and the period two solutions of all nonnegative solutions of the difference equation, xn+1 = axn + bxn−k A + Bxn−k where a, b, A, B are all positive real numbers, k ≥ 1 is a positive integer, and the initial conditions x−k, x−k+1, ..., x0 are nonnegative real numbers. It is shown that the zero equilibrium point is globally asymptotica...
